On August 9, 2019 CBS News reported that Monsanto’s parent company Bayer was sued by more than 18,000 people and made an offer of $8 Billion to settle. The law suit claimed that the chemical glyphosate which is an active ingredient in Roundup causes cancer.
Here is a list of the diseases attributed to Roundup:
Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Diabetes
Brain Cancer Infertility
Breast Cancer Birth Defects
Leukemia Parkinson’s Disease
Kidney Disease Thyroid Cancer
Testicular Cancer Multiple Sclerosis
Lung Cancer Autism
Liver Cancer Colitis
Nerve Damage Alzheimer’s
The chemical glyphosate has been detected in water systems across the United States. You don’t have be exposed to Roundup directly all you have to do is drink a glass of faucet water. The problem was created by water runoff from farms, industrial processing plants, drilling and underground fuel storage tanks.
Lono Ala is an accomplished technician who lives on Hawaii and recognized as an expert on water and its’ impact on health. He has studied the American public water system for many years and says it is in a state of crisis. He has written a book entitled “Don’t Drink The Water.” He makes the point that the government cannot keep up with the growing number of organic contaminants and chemicals in the water we consume every day.
Most cities and municipalities treat drinking water with chemicals such as chlorine and quicklime to kill germs, viruses and harmful organic contaminants. In addition most tap water contains fluoride to prevent cavities. Medical studies show that drinking water containing chlorine and fluoride increases one’s risk of developing bladder cancer by as much as 80%. Levels as little as one part per million (ppm) cause chromosonal damage. Higher amounts lower I.Q.
The following are common steps most public treatment systems take to purify water. (1) Coagulation is a process where chemicals are added to create small jelly like particles called floc which absorb contaminants. (2) Water is mixed with the floc. (3) Then the water passes through filtration systems to remove the floc. (4) More chemicals are added plus corrosion control solutions to prevent the pipes from rusting. After that the water is stored for general distribution.
To protect yourself, you can buy bottle water but that can get expensive. The best way to protect yourself and your family is to get a water filter. Never drink tap water. Although a Britta water pitcher with filter is 99% effective against most contaminants they cannot filter out arsenic or your neighbors’ heart medication. Refrigerator filters are effective as long as they are changed on schedule. Reverse osmosis filters are also great. The most effective water filters on the market are Berkey and Alexapure. They both use military grade gravity filters that only let water molecules through.
I remember when I was in the Marine Corps stationed at Camp Pendleton, Southern California, near the Mexican border and Tijuana. Every weekend we were warned, “If you go to Mexico do not drink the water.” In today’s world that statement applies to the United States as well.
